Mentoring and conversations.

Seminar leadership

** From 2023 I am available for mentoring and conversations with colleagues and interested persons but I'm not now available as a regular supervisor.

I enjoy leading seminars and offering presentations  to groups. I'm happy to use the Zoom platform to speak with people.

I practised as a supervisor - mentor from the 1970s. My focus included an informed consideration of the importance of cultural formation.

My approach is holistic in the sense that the whole of life experience of each person is taken into account. Training in a number of therapeutic and life style theories has been important for me but I prefer to discover the unique story of each individual and build a helping relationship, which I see as the key to effective therapy.

Sometimes a therapeutic method will be helpful but it needs to be offered as part of an integrated approach aligned with the cultural, social and personal situation surrounding each person, family or group. I am not, in any way, an analyst, nor have I settled on any one belief or therapeutic system.

My approach to therapy and life issues is detailed in published papers which are available on request. (roybowden1941@gmail.com).

(I can refer people to colleagues who offer health related services for people: counselling, relationships, therapy, culturally based services and social services.)
